"Smith" Family Back on Track

"My family is on the road to success" is exactly how the "Smith Family" expressed their appreciation to the Family Promise staff last week when the two signed their apartment lease. The single mother and her toddler son, who for safety purposes will be known as the "Smith Family", are now back in housing after fleeing a difficult abuse situation which left them couch surfing for just over a year. The mother spent that year frightened because of both COVID and the worries of facing her partner. Fortunately, Family Promise and other agencies in our region serve as shelters for the unhoused but also as a space for regrouping and comfort. We will continue to provide support to the family through case management.
