We would like to thank the Missions Committee of the Mother Joseph Fund at Providence Health Systems for their continued partnership with Family Promise of the Verdugos. In December 2020, the Mother Joseph Fund committee awarded 26 nonprofits a combined total of $400k to support the poor and vulnerable in our region. $18,000 of this funding was donated to FPV in order to support our shelter which, in the last year, has had to pivot drastically to accommodate the new challenges of the pandemic. For safety, families are now staying in local motels and food is provided by our congregation partners. The Mother Joseph Fund was named for Mother-Joseph Pariseau of the sisters of Providence, who formed Providence Health & Services in 1869, and aims to serve the homeless, victims of domestic violence, the blind and others in need throughout Los Angeles, according to officials. We appreciate the support!
