Impact of CLUB 365
Updated: Feb 10, 2021
Since 2015, Family Promise of the Verdugos has offered our community members to make an impact on a daily basis. Our CLUB 365 program encourages partners to donate at least $1 or more per day to keep our organization doors open. It is this annual giving program that directly benefits our core program: the 90-day shelter.
Many of our partners have joined the cause to help us provide temporary shelter, meals and case management to our homeless families in need. CLUB 365 members such as our founding Board President, Jennifer Greene-Smith, and her family have been long time donors through this initiative.
Every day of every week throughout the year, mothers and fathers are striving to provide for their children. But on any given night in California, 25,000 families will be homeless and wondering where their next meal will come from or where they will be able to sleep that evening.
This does not include singles and the chronically homeless. Families are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population. Over 40% of the U.S. homeless population are families with children. One out of every 50 children, or 1.5 million children, are homeless.
Children experiencing homelessness have increased health problems, increased mental problems, struggle in school, and have an estimated graduation rate below 25%.
Family Promise was opened to help eliminate the growing population of homeless families. Shelters fill up quickly and most segregate by age and gender. Family Promise is unique in that we keep the family together during this process. No parent wants to split up their family.
For just $1 a day, your contributions will allow us to provide shelter, food, and case management for our situationally-homeless families. For more information about the CLUB 365 program including signing up feel free to call our Administration Office at (818) 562-7778.
